We had so much fun over the Holidays this year. It was nice to be with family. I think we saw every one of our family members except my brother who is on a mission. That is what the Holidays are for, right? Spending time with family!
We kicked off our Holiday season by celebrating my sister’s wedding a week before Christmas. Besides poor Lainy having the flu, it was a fun day. Hayley (my sister) and Justin are such a great match and we had a blast celebrating with them. Their reception was pretty spectacular. I wish you could have all seen it. Wow. It was a party! Maybe the best part was all the wedding guests lining up outside with huge sparklers to send the newlyweds off on their honeymoon. It was fun!

We spent Christmas Eve with Brad’s family. It was the first time in a long time that everyone has been there. It was busy and crowded and crazy and wonderful. The Hansen’s have a tradition of hiding presents and sending people on treasure hunts Christmas morning. It was funny to watch everyone Christmas Eve thinking of clues and planning surprises.

Christmas morning was wonderful and magical. Lainy had asked Santa for a Dr. Kit, but he also surprised her with “a real Jessie doll” (from Toy Story). Leah found her cute little baby and hugged her all morning. We were all spoiled rotten!
We were able to talk with my brother, Jeff, on Christmas day. He’s in Paraguay on his mission. It took all morning to get through to him, but we eventually did. He sounds so good. I love that kid!
The rest of our break was spent with family and friends. We kept ourselves busy and had a lot of fun!

We spent New Years Eve driving to Seattle. It was a long drive (15 hours) but the girls did great and luck proved to be on our side with weather and road conditions. We pulled into our parking lot in Seattle just as the fireworks were being shot off the Space Needle at midnight. Coming home was a fun way to ring in the New Year!
So we’re back in Seattle and happy to be here! We hope you had a happy holiday season as well!
