Cabin Fever

Brad and I have cabin fever. It's a new experience for me. I used to be sad when the snow started melting because it meant the end of snow forts, sledding down the hill in our front yard, snowball fights, and ski school. Now I can't wait for it to go away. Brad and I have decided that snow is only fun at Christmas and if you can play in it. Christmas was three months ago, and with a baby we can't really play in the snow. So we're stuck inside. When we do venture out we have to bundle Alaina up and, though she looks very cute, she's not very thrilled about the three layers of clothes and two blankets wrapped around her.

We were tricked into believing Spring was here last Saturday. The sun was shining through our windows and we could see the snow drifts melting into big puddles in our parking lot. We decided to take Alaina for a walk to see the ducks at the Nature Park. When we stepped out of the car, we realized we'd been fooled. That tricky little sunshine looked a lot warmer than the 27 degrees it actually was outside. So we ended up outside for about 5 minutes before we put our little red-nosed baby back in the car.

The sun is shining again today. I think Alaina and I will sit in the weak little patch of sunlight coming through our windows and look wistfully outside while we wait for Spring to come for real. With the way things are going, we could be sitting here until June. Let's hope not!

Yes cabin fever! that is exactly what i've been experiencing! Hopefully the weather is not fooling us this week! I actually ventured out with a light sweater on earlier today and I wasn't cold. But knowing the weather....: )

I can totally relate to this...winter was so much more fun when we didn't have to spend so much time getting ready to go outside. It's so hard with little babies...it will be so much more fun when she's a couple of years older and wanting to make snow forts, etc. Hopefully the sun will get nice and warm soon!
