Our Little Helper

Things have been busy around here. Brad and I realized yesterday that we're moving in two weeks and we've got a lot, A LOT, to do before we go. We're going out of town for a few days this weekend, which means we really have about 7 days at home to get ready for the move. Ah! Crazy!

For the past few days I have been organizing all of our stuff. You know, going through old papers, clothes, books, etc. and getting rid of what we don't want or use. Lainy watched me for the first day, then I think she decided she wanted to help. As I went through our file cabinet and put old papers in a pile to throw away, Lainy sat behind me. She was very quiet, so I turned around to see what she was doing. After I would put a paper in the pile she would then picked it up, examine it, and set it back down in the pile. It was so funny! It was like she was double checking my work to make sure I did it right. The whole time she had such a serious look on her face. I couldn't help but chuckle.

Yesterday I was going through Lainy's old baby clothes and putting them in a storage bin for safe-keeping. I left the room and came back to find this:

That's what you get with a crawler, I guess.

Finally, this morning as I was loading the dishwasher, Lainy decided I needed her help once again. Here are the results (notice all the silverware on the floor):
What a sweet baby! So helpful. Maybe I'll have to give her some other tasks so I can actually get done what I need to get done!

I love it when they help!!! They feel like they are doing so much!!! It is good for them to learn how to help and they love it too, so have fun with it! Braxton has his "chores" he helps me unload the dishwasher, and he puts things in the garbage, and he helps with laundry. It is so cute!!!

Yes, they sure love to "help" at this age, don't they? Caleb's favorite thing to help with is folding the laundry...haha, more like knocking over the piles I've already folded. If they weren't so cute, it would be a lot easier to get mad at them!

So cute! Too bad we are leaving on monday, we would love to come and help ya pack. I guess I should have thought about that earlier then we could have tried to help this week. Oh well. We hope ya have a great trip with your family and are going to miss you so much. We'll have to catch ya before you leave.

What a cute little helper. James was helping us shuck corn today for dinner. It is so fun to have them help.
She looks just like Brad in that last picture!
